Fruit Crisp – Carolyn Dennis

Serves 6-8

1/2 c. rolled oats

1/2 c. packed brown sugar

1/4 c. flour of your choice

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1/4 c. butter or margarine

2 lbs. apples or peaches, canned or fresh

nuts of any kind chopped (optional)

Combine oats, brown sugar, flour and cinnamon. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs, add nuts. Peel, core, slice fruit or drain juice from canned fruit and place in 10 x 6 x 2 baking dish. Sprinkle fruit with a little sugar and add crumb mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Can be served with ice cream.
