Toffee

2 sticks butter
1 cup  + 2 T sugar
Dash salt.

 

Use heavy pan. Heat butter. Add teh rest of ingredients. STir on medium until caramelized to a rich golden brown. Pour over toasted sliced almonds in a flat plate. Spread to desired thickness. This makes enough to cover a regular oval platter. Quickly cover with broken-up Hershey bars (the small ones that come in a 6 pack work well0> Let soften then spread over toffee. Cool and break into pieces.
