Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs, add nuts. Peel, core, slice fruit or drain juice from canned fruit and place in 10 x 6 x 2 baking dish. Sprinkle fruit with a little sugar and add crumb mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
