4 c. diced or shredded apple (peeled)<\/span><\/p>\n

2 eggs<\/span><\/p>\n

2 c. sugar<\/span><\/p>\n

2 tsp. cinnamon<\/span><\/p>\n

½ c. salad oil<\/span><\/p>\n

½ c. chopped nuts (optional)<\/span><\/p>\n

2 c. flour<\/span><\/p>\n

1 tsp. salt<\/span><\/p>\n

2 tsp. soda<\/span><\/p>\n

Put apples in mixing bowl. Break eggs over and stir. Add sugar, cinnamon, nuts and oil.  <\/span>Add flour, salt and soda. Beat until creamy. Bake in 9X13” pan approximately 350 degrees.<\/span><\/p>\n

Caramel Sauce<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

1 c. brown sugar<\/span><\/p>\n

1 c. granulated sugar<\/span><\/p>\n

2 T. flour<\/span><\/p>\n

1 c. butter (2 cubes)  <\/span>no substitutes please!<\/span><\/p>\n

1 c. cream<\/span><\/p>\n

2 tsp. vanilla<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Heat sugars, flour, butter and cream on low heat for about 10-12 minutes, stirring constantly. Bring to a bit of a boil for about one minute. Remove from heat and add vanilla.  <\/span>Serve warm over pieces of apple cake. This is pretty , yummy sauce to use over ice cream too!<\/span><\/p>\n
