Molasses Sugar Cookies – Sarah Adolphson Andersen

¾ cup shortening                                                                      ½ teas salt

1 cup sugar                                                                               2 cups flour

¼ cup molasses                                                                         ½ teas cloves

1 egg                                                                                        ½ teas ginger

2 teas soda                                                                               1 teas cinnamon

 

Melt shortening and cool.  Add sugar, molasses, and egg and beat well.  Add dry ingredients.  Roll into balls and dip in sugar.  Bake for 8-10 minutes at 375 degrees.
