Yummy Lettuce Wraps – Julie Bonner

Dipping sauce:

3 to 4 T sugar

1/2 c. hot water

3 T. light soy sauce

2 T rice wine vinegar

2 T ketchup

1 T. lemon juice

1/4 tsp. sesame oil

 

Garlic Mustard Sauce:

1 tsp. hot water

1 T. Dijon mustard (or 1 tsp. dry)

2 cloves garlic, minced

 

Stir Fry Sauce

2 T. light soy sauce

2 T. brown sugar

1/2 tsp. rice wine vinegar

1. Dipping sauce – in a small bowl, dissolve sugar in hot water. Blend in remaining ingredients. Set aside.

2. Garlic mustard-sauce-mix ingredients until dissolved, set aside.

3. Stir fry sauce-blend ingredients, set aside

 

Stir Fry Meat

3 T. sesame oil

3 T. olive oil

1 lb. ground turkey or chicken, or 3 uncooked chicken breasts, cut into 1/2 inch cubes

1 8-oz can slice water chestnuts, drained and finely chopped

1/2 c. mushrooms, minced

3 cloves garlic, minced

ice-berg lettuce from wrapping

In a large skillet heat sesame oil and 2 T. olive oil over medium heat. Add meat and stir fry 5 minutes or until done. Push meat aside and add remaining 1 T. of olive oil. Add remaining ingredients and stir fry sauce. Cook 4  minutes, stirring frequently. Mix garlic mustard sauce and dipping sauce 1/2 tsp at a time until desired flavor is reached. Serve meat and sauce rolled in iceberg lettuce leafs.
