Fresh Apple Cake with Caramel Sauce – Stake Leadership

4 c. diced or shredded apple (peeled)

2 eggs

2 c. sugar

2 tsp. cinnamon

½ c. salad oil

½ c. chopped nuts (optional)

2 c. flour

1 tsp. salt

2 tsp. soda

 

Put apples in mixing bowl. Break eggs over and stir. Add sugar, cinnamon, nuts and oil.  Add flour, salt and soda. Beat until creamy. Bake in 9X13” pan approximately 350 degrees.

 

Caramel Sauce

 

1 c. brown sugar

1 c. granulated sugar

2 T. flour

1 c. butter (2 cubes)  no substitutes please!

1 c. cream

2 tsp. vanilla

Heat sugars, flour, butter and cream on low heat for about 10-12 minutes, stirring constantly. Bring to a bit of a boil for about one minute. Remove from heat and add vanilla.  Serve warm over pieces of apple cake. This is pretty , yummy sauce to use over ice cream too!
