Hamburger Soup – Relief Society Bulletin

Brown together:

1 lb. hamburger , 1 c. onion

1 ½ quarts water

2 tsp. salt

¼ tsp. pepper

Bay leaves

½ tsp. thyme

½ tsp. basil

1 c. carrots, potatoes, celery (all thinly sliced)

1 clove garlic

1 c. cabbage shredded

1 c. tomato juice

(You can also add lentils and barley)

Cook at least 1 hour bubbling.
