Old Fashioned Wheat Bread – Relief Society Bulletin

1 T. yeast

1/3 c. warm water

1 T. cooking oil

1 T. salt

1 T. honey

1 T. molasses

3 cups scalded and cooled milk

6 cups whole wheat flour

 

Soften Yeast in warm water. Add oil, salt, honey, molasses, and cooled milk and blend. Add enough flour to make a soft dough that leaves sides of pan. (May be a littly sticky). Turn onto a floured board and knead 5 to 10 minutes or until smooth, using extra flour as needed. Allow dough to rest 10 minutes. Then shape into two loaves and place in greased loaf pans. Allow to rise not quite double in bulk and bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes or until done.
