Enchilada Casserole – Cindy Leishman

2 lbs. hamburger

1 c. chopped onion or 3 T. minced onion

¼ tsp. oregano

2 T. chili powder

¼ t. tobasco sauce

1 t. garlic salt

¾ c. flour

2 ¼ c. water

2 cans (8 oz.) tomato sauce or 1 can tomato sauce and 1 can chili salsa

1 c. grated cheese

½ head lettuce, shredded

8 corn tortillas

Cook meat, onion and spices until meat loses color and onion is clear. Drain meat. Add flour and mix well. Stir in water and cook and stir to the consistency of gravy. Add tom. Sauce. Simmer 5 to 10 minutes. In casserole. Layer ½ meat mixture, ½ of tortillas and ½ cheese. Repeat topping with cheese. Bake at 350 for 25 min. Serve with lettuce on top and sour cream.
