Poppyseed Bread – Relief Society Bulletin
Blend together the following and beat for 2 minutes
3 c. flour
1 ½ tsp. salt
1 ½ tsp. baking powder
2 ½ c. sugar
1 ½ c. milk
1 1/8 c. oil
1 ½ T. poppy seed
3 eggs
1 ½ tsp. vanilla
1 ½ tsp. almond extract
Grease and flour 5 small tins (6X 3 ¾ X 2)
Bake 350 degrees 50-60 minutes.
Remove from the oven and leave in the pans to cool on racks. While hot, spoon glaze over the top.
Glaze
Melt together
¾ c. sugar
¼ c. orange juice
2 T. butter
½ tsp. vanilla
½ tsp. almond extract
Cool 30 minutes and remove from the tins.
