German Oven Pancakes – Larae Whale

(Pancake Heaven!)
1 ½ cups Milk                      

 ¼ cup (half a stick) Butter OR Margerine
3/4 cup Flour                            

3 cups fresh Strawberries (halved and tossed with 1 or 2 T. Sugar)
1/3 cup Sugar                            Sour Cream
1/4 tsp. Salt                               Brown Sugar
3 Eggs
 
*Preheat oven to 400.  Put butter or margerine in glass deep-dish pie plate.  Place in oven till it melts and
bubbles (don’t let it burn).
*While butter is melting, place milk, flour, sugar, salt and eggs in blender.  Mix on medium speed till smooth.
Remove pie plate from oven.  Adjust heat to 450.  Immediately pour mixture all at once into hot buttered pie
plate.
*Return to oven.  Bake 20 min. at 450, then lower heat to 350, and bake another 8-10 min. till edges are puffed
and browned.  A well will form in the middle.  Remove from oven.
*Fill well with strawberries.
*To serve:  Cut in wedges.  Top with sour cream and sprinkle with brown sugar.
(NOTE:  You can also use 2 cans of peaches (drained) instead of strawberries, or other fruit…be creative!)
