Christmas Morning French Toast – Ned and Kathy Jensen

1 pint whipping cream                                       ½ tsp. vanilla  extract

½ c. milk                                                           1½ tsp. ground nutmeg

5 eggs                                                              ¼ tsp. salt

2 T. orange marmalade                                     1 loaf French bread, 1 inch slices

 

Blend all ingredients well in a blender.  Pour into shallow baking dish.  Dredge each

Slice of bread through mixture so both sides are well coated.  Fry on grill at

med. high, turning until both sides are browned.   Serves approx. 6-8

 

Christmas Morning Cinnamon Syrup – Ned and Kathy Jensen

 

1 c. sugar                                                   ¼ c. water

½ c. light corn syrup                                  ½ c. whipping cream

½ tsp. ground cinnamon

 

In a small saucepan, stir together sugar, corn syrup, water and cinnamon. 

Stirring constantly, bring to a boil over a moderate heat.  Boil for 2 min.

Remove from heat.  Stir in cream.  Cool at least 30 min.  Syrup will thicken as it

cools.  Makes 1  1/3 cups.  Syrup may be refrigerated for several weeks.  Serve warm or room temperature on waffles, pancakes or French toast.
