Mint Brownies – Kerri Young

These are a new family favorite, expecially during the holidays. A minimal pain but worth it!

Melt:

3 sq. unsweetened chocolate

1 c. butter

 

Blend:

4 eggs

2 c. sugar

½ tsp. mint extract

 

Add creamed mixture to melted chocolate. Add:

1 c. flour

1 c. nuts

dash of salt

Bake in 9X13 pan at 350 for 20-25 minutes. Cool completely.

 

Frosting:

4 T. butter

2 c. powdered sugar

1 ½ tsp. mint extract

2 T. milk

Green food coloring

 

Frost top of brownies. Let set. Melt 1 ½ squares of chocolate and 1 T. butter. Drizzle over green frosting. Drag knife through to make design. Sprinkle with crushed peppermint candy, if desired.
