Camillia’s Favorite Sweet and Sour Chicken – Cindy Leishman

3 lbs. chicken breasts, skinned

1 tsp garlic salt

½ tsp black pepper

Milk

Flour

Sweet and Sour Sauce:

¾ cup sugar

½ cup vinegar

½ cup chicken stock or water

3 ½ tablespoons catsup

1 tablespoon soy sauce

 

1. Sprinkle chicken with garlic salt and pepper. Let stand in refrigerator for 1 hour or more.

2. Dip chicken in milk, then in flour. Brown in hot oil. Place in baking dish.

3. Combine sugar, vinegar, chicken stock or water, catsup and soy sauce in saucepan and heat. Pour over chicken.

4. Bake at 325° for 1 hour, uncovered. Turn chicken once or twice while baking.

Serve over rice.
